In 1992, I obtained my undergraduate degree from UNSW in Philosophy and Economics, and later pursued a Masters in Art (Painting) from UNSW Art and Design, which I completed in 2012. My artwork has been showcased both nationally and internationally, including exhibitions in London and Athens.
Over the years, I have been recognized as a finalist for various art prizes such as the Mosman Art Prize, Wyndham Art Prize, Calleen Art Prize, and the Fisher's Ghost Art Prize.
The subject matter of my studio art practice revolves around identity, with a focus on how the experience of losing my daughter has shaped me. Death is a recurrent theme in my work and is often juxtaposed with humour and a playfulness for some relief from the weight of the subject matter.
While traditional painting techniques are the foundation of my practice, I will push myself to try something new with the work, whether it be using new material or simply painting in a different way. Small installations often accompany the paintings and serve as three dimensional extension to the canvases.
